Dass die Leute von NPR für Überraschungen gut sind, wusste ich schon. Meine war heute Alicia Keys mit ihrem NPR-Tiny-Desk-Konzert. Wundervoll, unbedingt hörenswert. So tolle Musik, dazu ironisch-intelligente Moderationen einer hochinteressanten Persönlichkeit, so was gefällt mir sehr.

Ach ja: Wynton Marsalis und seine Männer vom Jefferson Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra JLCO sind auch noch da. Sie haben ihr 25. Jubiläum des Highscool-Jazzband-Wettbewerbs „Essentially Ellington“ online ausgetragen, und die Mädchen/Jungs von meiner anderen Lieblingstruppe, San Andreu Jazzband um Joan Chamorro, hat mehrere lobende Erwähnungen mitgenommen. Aus der Band „heraus gewachsen“ ist das New Quartet, das offensichtlich kurz vor der ersten Live-CD steht; Happen sind vielversprechend. Enjoy, wie der Lateiner sagt.

Oh yes: Wynton Marsalis and his men from the Jefferson Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra JLCO are still there. They held their 25th anniversary of the high school jazz band competition „Essentially Ellington“ online, and the girls / boys from my other favorite group, San Andreu Jazzband led by Joan Chamorro, took several honorable mentions with them. The New Quartet “grew out of the band”, which is obviously close to the first live CD; Bites are promising. Enjoy, as the Latin says.
